Class analysis of Usher 'Vibe' magazine

Mid-long shot

This image represents an iconic movie- top gun
as the aeroplane in the background shows he may be a pilot, his clothes also resemble that of a pilot as he is slightly grubby.

Oozing with masculinity

Looks like an iconic looking star

Lighting- coming bright from the sun, high key lighting which emphasises star quality.

Colour scheme- 4 key colours- Blue, yellow and khaki

Expensive accessories which cannote R&B

Masthead - well established brand therefore it is ok to place the star in front of the masthead.
VIBE is recognisable and shows Usher has dominance and is the star.

Main cover line -States his name, anchors the picture and is large.
Smaller cover lines appear on the left which tell us what else is in the magazine.

Puff included - here the plus sign connotes more stuff inside the magazine.

Skyline uses names of artists to attract more audience and attention. -Additional selling line.
Could also brand the magazine.

QR code and Barcode

Ushers name is spelt with lower case, however Soulja boy has a capital letter which could reinforce Usher is more laid back and modern.

Bold - Serif font -San serif - Consistent font, modern, slick-back and reflects the genre.
